Tools I will use in the Classroom

I plan on using Google forms to make assessments for the students.  Luckily we have access to computers so my students can do their tests on the computers.  I have researched Flubaroo and will use that as a tool to help score the tests, set up graphs, e-mail students on how they did on their assessment and send the information to our administrators as evidence of learning.

I am going to set up a math blog where students can talk about what they have learned, what they are still having difficulty with, and I can comment and help anyone who is struggling.

Students will also use spreadsheets to graph data during our math unit on data and representation.

  1. Heather I am going to check out Flubaroo. Our school is also looking at ways to use technology for practice work and assessments. It would seem in this day and age that we should have a system that simplifies this process. As a primary teacher I spend way to much time giving and correcting assessments and in putting data. Not enough time is spent analyzing and using the information to support learning.

  2. Just wanted to let you know that I have really enjoyed working with you over the last week. Maybe we can set up some sort of a collaborative something- blog or site- during the course of next year? Happy creating, see you in August.

  3. We will have our classes work together. I have been saying for a long time how disappointed I am with the way City and Town school do not do a lot of collaborative activities. It is sad. We will have to change that! :-)

  4. Thanks for educating me about Flubaroo. Ways to combine assessments and technology therefore making us available for student learning and planning works for me.

  5. Matt was the one who introduced me to it. Flubaroo is going to play a large role in my assessment of children!
